Peacemakers vs. Problem Solvers
by Yulius Maran | Principal of Regina Pacis Senior High School

Regina Pacis Jakarta Senior High School has passed the remarkable milestone of half a century. As an educational institution that has thrived for over 50 years, Regina Pacis continuously reflects on how to improve its educational services to ensure a learning environment that is not only safe and comfortable but also relevant and contextual. Over time, Recis (short for Regina Pacis) and Recisians—a name given to the school community members who embody the spirit of the Queen of Peace, as well as its alumni—have become symbols of a living tradition. As of July 2023, Regina Pacis Senior High School has served a total of 7,054 students.

Cultivating Peacemakers
The waves of change in this era demand that global citizens constantly improve themselves, ensuring that noble values and aspirations are realized in relevant and meaningful ways. Aware of this challenge, Regina Pacis Senior High School has strategically positioned itself to continually guide and nurture students to grow in harmony with the spirit of the times.

Regina Pacis is strongly committed to designing an integrative program combining Intracurricular, Co-curricular, and Extracurricular activities. This integrative program is built on five pillars: the National Curriculum, the International Curriculum, Character Development, Digital Transformation, and the Development of Future Skills. We believe that these five pillars are essential for shaping students into intelligent, resilient, and faithful individuals.

The synergy of these three essential components naturally forms Peacemakers. A Peacemaker is, in fact, a Problem Solver. Our students are constantly engaged in critical thinking, scientific methods, and design thinking, all while balancing their lives through the spirituality of the Queen of Peace to achieve holistic student well-being.

This student well-being is embedded into our National Curriculum. Students are trained to take responsibility for their learning achievements, independently design creative and innovative learning strategies, and engage in daily reflection on their learning journey.

In terms of socio-spiritual growth, SEMEDI (Ten Minutes with Oneself) serves as a reflective symbol of a true Recisian. Every day, the entire school community takes a break from their activities between 1:50–2:00 PM to quietly reflect together. The fruits of these reflections, shared by students, teachers, and staff, enrich the community as blessings and collective growth.

Students experience international exposure through student exchange programs with Fukuoka Girls’ School, Japan, and Sacred Heart Girls’ College Oakleigh, Melbourne. This experience is strengthened by the International Curriculum, which trains students in critical thinking, creativity, socio-emotional skills, and global diversity. Moreover, Regina Pacis is supported by both local and expatriate teachers, who deliver specialized programs in Science Math Projects, English, and enrichment activities.

The embodiment of CHIPS—Compassion, Humility, Integrity, Peace, and Servant Leadership—is our core vision. We do not merely teach these values conceptually; we integrate them into the daily lives of our students. Through this commitment to character development, our school focuses on themes that foster socio-emotional and spiritual growth.

In the process of learning and character development, Regina Pacis integrates progressive digital transformation and maintains a strong commitment to improving future skills to support students’ career development. In this regard, Regina Pacis Senior High School serves as a miniature version of real life, where project-based integrative learning prepares students for their future endeavors.

Our Competitive Advantages

Spiritual Emphasis and Enrichment Days

Spiritual Emphasis and Enrichment Days

Regina Pacis Elementary School is based on Catholic faith, so from the beginning, we introduce the goodness of God so that the children can draw closer to Him. To realize this, every new academic year starts with a celebration of the Eucharist together, asking God to bless the teaching and learning process for the upcoming year. In addition, every day before lessons begin, we invite the children to pray together, led by teachers and students alternately. This is to teach the children to be brave and take the lead in praise and prayer.

Academic Program

With the motivation and support of dedicated teachers and the backing of parents, we have won several competitions.

Meaningful Learning Through the Montessori Method

Meaningful Learning Through the Montessori Method

We integrate the Montessori approach to encourage independence, curiosity, and creativity. Children are given freedom to learn at their own pace and interests within a structured environment. This method ensures a joyful and meaningful learning experience during their golden years.

Regina Pacis Jakarta Playgroup and Kindergarten (KB-TK) offers a high-quality and holistic-integrative early childhood education program.

HIGH QUALITY, because the learning process and environment are child-centered, safe, and designed to support optimal growth and development in all key areas, including cognitive, language, religious and moral values, social-emotional skills, independence, physical-motor skills, and the arts.

HOLISTIC INTEGRATIVE, meaning that early childhood development is approached in a comprehensive and well-rounded manner. This includes services in nutrition and health, education, caregiving, and child protection to ensure the best possible development for every child. Our program is implemented in close collaboration with various stakeholders to provide an integrated and supportive system for young learners.

Where Joyful Learning Meets Montessori Excellent

KB-TK Regina Pacis is committed to shaping students into resilient (independent), intelligent, faithful, and peace-bearing individuals, guided by the school’s core values of CHIPS. This is achieved through a combination of Joyful Learning and the Montessori method.

Joyful Learning creates an engaging and enjoyable learning experience, allowing children to grow and develop happily through play-based learning. This approach ensures that children aged 2 to 6 receive the experiences they need at their developmental stage.

Montessori, on the other hand, is a method specifically designed to align with how young children naturally absorb, learn, and understand concepts according to their age range.

Empowering Young Thinkers Through Meaningful Projects

As a Sekolah Penggerak (Pioneer School) Second Batch, we deeply understand how to implement learning approaches that stimulate critical thinking in early childhood. By using a Project-Based Learning Method, we maximize children’s cognitive development, guiding them through various thinking levels, from remembering and understanding to applying, analyzing, evaluating, and ultimately creating.

Each project is also designed to nurture the Pancasila Student Profile character traits from an early age. Our goal is to equip students with the ability to apply their learning in everyday life, making their education meaningful and beneficial for their future.

KB-TK Regina Pacis believes that every child is unique, each with their own strengths and potential. These abilities can be nurtured and developed through a carefully designed learning environment and structured activities, including:
